What I Did Today

 1.  Learned how to find MAC addresses with a free app downloaded to the server. Also found out I didn't need the app, but the interface is much nicer than the built in capability.
2. Disassociated four HP desktops from the server. Don't know how old they were but I do know they were delivered with Vista and retrofitted with XP. Anyway, the hard drives were facing imminent failure. They said so. Right there on the monitor.

When I arrived at my current place of employment as technology coordinator, little did I know how much IT work I was to be tasked with. I thought I'd be more of a technology integrationist, working with teachers and students, finding cool things for them to work on. There was some of that. In between keeping the Internet working. There was lots of Internet instability. Lots of downtime. As the tech person, it was all my fault. I, like Jen on "The IT Crowd," singlehandedly broke the Internet.

But that was in the beginning. Now I am the fixer of all things Internet.
